32nd International Babolna Farmer Days

With its three decades past, the exhibition is an important event or rather a celebration of agriculture.

The Babolna Farmer Days have not only created a tradition, but it also represents a value, which makes the host and organizer of the event, the Babolna National Stud Farm justly proud. A clear proof of its recognition is that the exhibitors and also the visitors keep the event in mind and year by year they return to the exhibition.

The 32nd International Babolna Farmer Days will be organized as a co-event of the 79th National Agriculture and Food Exhibition and Fair between the 5th and 8th September, 2019.

The exhibition benefits from the support of the leading professional organizations, the GOSZ, the MEGOSZ, the MEGFOSZ and the Hungarian Chamber of Agriculture.

The organizer Babolna National Stud Farm, and also the town and the region of Bábolna is striving to make these four days even more attractive to the professional public.

The Babolna Farmer Days was the first to provide an opportunity for a machine demonstration in motion and during the years that have passed, this is what made the exhibition special.  The leading machine dealers, machine manufacturers and professional organizations choose a theme every year for the machine demonstration in motion. According to our plans this year it will be centered around irrigation and its technical background. Therefore the focus of the exhibition is the agricultural machinery, but all the other agriculture related products and services will be presented too, just as the educational and research establishments.

Similar to the year before, many vocational programs await the professionals visiting Bábolna. We continue our SMARTFARM conference series expanded with a practical demonstration, where nutrient management, pest management and irrigation are the three main topics. The main goal for the farmers is to hear and see theory and practice on the same place. So here, theory and practice is brought under the same roof. We plan to provide free professional counselling to the farmers on the topics of precision farming, soil analysis, moisture management, documentation and reporting requirements.

On the second day of the Babolna Farmer Days we keep a “Vocational School Day”. We would like to present the interesting aspects of the agricultural profession to the students of vocational schools, they can try out the machinery and discuss with the exhibitors the diversity and opportunities in the profession. We invited and we expect hundreds of students to the event.

The visit of farmers outside Hungary will also be a highlight of the event. Together with the MAGOSZ and the Hungarian Chamber of Agriculture we invite and await the farmers to guide them through the exhibition in an organized fashion. We present the latest technical innovations and on the expert counselling spot there is a possibility to discuss the professional problems that occurred.

The organizers also provide interesting family programs to the general public. There will be test driving, horse show, carriage rides and a miniature kid’s paradise as well. The visitors – in organized groups – will have a chance to see the historical building complex and the famous horses of the Stud Farm on a guided tour this year as well.

Besides sucessfully and effectively organizing the Babolna Farmer Days, the responsibilities of the Stud Farm also include continuing the historical horse breeding and gene preservation, maintaining the building complex and keeping the traditions.

The now proverb like motto of the event will be true to its meaning once again.
