He was highly regarded already at two years of age, as following a successful debut he went to the Szent László Prize (HUN Gd-2) as a major contender. On a heavily rain-affected track, however, he could finish only fifth.

At three, he quickly came into his own. In his first start of the 2024 season, the 1400-metre Gróf Erdődy Rudolf Memorial Race (Class I), he finished an impressive second after a tactically well-judged ride. Shortly thereafter, the Irish-bred colt changed ownership, joining the Benji-Beni Stable for HUF 20,000,000.

He went on to win the season’s first Classic, the mile Nemzeti Prize (HUN Gd-2), followed about a month later by another victory in the Alagi Prize (HUN Gd-2). The 102nd Hungarian Derby (HUN Gd-1) over 2400 metres provided the crowd with a fascinating tactical contest. Géza was ridden patiently for much of the race, before surging through the field like an express train in the final 400 metres. With this emphatic victory, the possibility of completing the Triple Crown in the October St. Leger came into view.

His next major assignment was the Austrian Classic, the Donau Derby (AUT Gd-1). The last Hungarian-trained horse to complete the Derby double had been Turbó in 1981. By confidently winning the Donau Derby as well—his fourth consecutive major success—Géza wrote his name into the history books. Unfortunately, he was unable to contest the October St. Leger due to injury.

Pedigree

Sioux Nation, a Group 1-winning two-year-old and Royal Ascot winner, is a son of Scat Daddy—just like No Nay Never.
Scat Daddy is the phenomenal sire of, among others, No Nay Never, Triple Crown winner Justify, and sprinting stars Caravaggio, Lady Aurelia, Acapulco, etc.

Sioux Nation’s dam won her only career start over six furlongs and is a daughter of European Champion Sprinter and outstanding sire Oasis Dream, a leading influence for speed.

In 2025, Sioux Nation’s yearlings sold for 525,000 gns, 475,000 gns, 325,000 gns, €310,000, 280,000 gns, €260,000, €250,000, and more.
His breeze-up progeny reached prices of up to €1,000,000 in 2025.

Best progeny to date include:
• Socks Nation – winner of the Group 1 Queensland Oaks, placed in the Group 1 Empire Rose Stakes and Group 1 Northerly Stakes (trainer: Ciaron Maher).
• She’s Perfect – finished first past the post in the Group 1 Poule d’Essai des Pouliches and runner-up in the Group 3 Prix de la Grotte.
• Matilda Picotte – multiple winner including the Group 2 Challenge Stakes, Group 3 Sceptre Fillies’ Stakes, and Listed Bosra Sham Stakes at Newmarket; runner-up in the Group 3 Priory Belle 1,000 Guineas Trial Stakes and Group 3 Fairy Bridge Stakes; third in the Group 1 1000 Guineas, Group 2 Airlie Stud Stakes, and Group 2 Lowther Stakes.
• Zanthos – a €1 million breeze-up purchase from Arqana and winner of the Group 2 Rockfel Stakes.

Dam Sire Line

Géza’s damsire is Makfi (GB), one of the early sons of the renowned Dubawi (IRE).
